Introduction : Kampung Arab.

Kampung Arab was a part of former area from Raden Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah or known as Sunan Ampel, Ruler  of the Majapahit era.Sunan Ampel aslo known as the spreader of moslem in east java area.  The history said that he was so mighty and wise that makes people belief and follow him and his Religion. This proffed With the exsistance of the Sunan Ampel Tomb & Masjid Ampel

Sunan ampel Mosque

Sunan Ampel come to this area (now known as: kampung arab) From Campa when the Majapahit Kingdom started to colapse, around 1400 BC. He Came To East Java along with the Arab merchants.
This merchants is estimated as the orign of all the Arab descent in East java.

About 40% residents of Kampung Arab are of Arab descent. Becouse of that we could see Many people with typical physique Middle East here. Their Houses can be easily identified. Their house has distinctive features, with two doors and two supporting pillars, and the terrace in front the House. One Door are used for the homeowners and their family members. While the other doors which is usually Bigger are used for the guest.

The others 60% were descendant and local residents who came and settled in Kamung Arab. The majority of the villagers in Kampung Arab is moslem. This is influenced by genetics and the Location of Kampung arab which has a religious history of Sunan Ampel tomb and Mosque .

Commonly, they works as a merchants. They sell various kinds of goods, ranging from clothes, perfume, worship equipment, food and kurma.
